All you need to create these 19 patterns is a large square or rectangular scarf. I used some of my favorite scarves in different sizes, but I only needed one scarf for most of these tufts.
A shorter scarf is best for basic knots and drapes, while a longer scarf is good for more intricate knots. And those heavy winter scarves are perfect for a simple, tufted look. But try each one with different yarns to see how it is.
Fold the scarf in half and wrap it around your neck. Take the loose ends of the scarf and pull them through the loop, being careful not to pull them too tight. Now turn the loop and pull the loose ends out again. Continue twisting the thread with one hand until the scarf is finished.
