If you already have a solid client base, great reviews, and enough projects to easily fill your calendar, it might be time to raise money. Just do it! This can actually help you attract more customers because it will increase the perceived value of your services.
But what if you’re struggling to attract customers or don’t have many positive reviews? Raising prices may not be the best idea yet. First you need to do some homework.
Imagine you are going to the store to buy new socks. (My sample game today is not strong, but bear with me.) You are looking at a wonderful set of socks. They are soft and fit like a dream. (I’m crazy about my socks, okay?) These are the socks you’d wear if you were going to run a marathon. The problem is that the package comes in three colors: blue, green and pink. You hate pink. You won’t be caught dead wearing pink socks. So you smile and laugh until you finally decide that these socks are too expensive to justify the cost when you’re only going to wear two out of three pairs.
Your web design packages are the same. If they aren’t tailored to your ideal client, you’ll have a much harder time selling your services, no matter how talented you are.

The key here is to understand how to structure your packages in a way that best suits the needs of your unique clientele.
If your design packages meet the needs of your ideal client, the next step is to communicate the true value of your offering. And that means revising your services page.

The biggest problem I see with service sites is that they list everything that’s included in the package, but don’t communicate their value.
Here is an example. Let’s say you include SEO optimization in your web design package. That’s great, but many people don’t realize the impact SEO can have on visibility and growth. And they won’t know unless you tell them.
Focus on results, not features. The truth is, most clients don’t care if you include SEO optimization. They care if potential customers will find them on Google. Do you see the difference here? SEO optimization is a feature. The result is openness (and accompanying revenue growth).
