Three tasks are contained in this domain. The main purpose of this assignment is to gather knowledge about the variables that influence occupational performance during occupational therapy.

Non Clinical Occupational Therapy (ot) Jobs

In this domain, analysis and interpretation are divided into three tasks. You must draw conclusions about your client’s needs and preferences in order to create and supervise an intervention plan throughout the occupational therapy process.

With six tasks related to intervention management, this is the longest part of the test. The occupational therapy process requires the candidate to select an intervention to manage a client-centered plan.

Three tasks are included in this domain. To promote quality care, candidates must provide answers to questions about managing their own and others’ professional activities according to available evidence, legal requirements and standards of practice.

To register for the OTR exam, you must first create an online MyNBCOT account. Through this account you can submit the application and $515 exam fee.

Once your application is approved, you will receive an email with your Authorization to Test (ATT) and information on how to schedule your exam appointment. You must take the exam within three months of receiving your ATT.

You are expected to arrive at the test center at least 30 minutes before your scheduled appointment. This gives you enough time to check in.

When you arrive, you will be asked to show two forms of valid identification, one of which must contain your photo. Your palms will then be scanned biometrically, and a photograph will be taken of you.

You will then be asked to leave all personal belongings in a secure locker outside the testing area. This includes any electronics, books, notes, jewellery, phones and food items.

A Day In The Life Of A School Based Occupational Therapist

Once the exam begins, you will be allowed to rest as needed. It’s important to note that the timer won’t pause while you’re away, so use your breaks wisely.

The Occupational Therapist exam is graded using a criteria-referenced scale system. The system takes your raw score, which is the number of questions you answered correctly, and converts it into a numerical score on a scale of 300 to 600. You must achieve a score of at least 450 to pass.

Your success on OTR test day depends not only on how many hours you prepare, but also on whether you prepare in the right way. It’s good to check in along the way to see if your learning is paying off. One of the most effective ways to do this is to take an Occupational Therapist Practice Test to assess your progress. Practice tests are useful because they show exactly where you need to improve. Whenever you take a free Occupational Therapist exam practice test, pay particular attention to these three groups of questions:

This will show you what your weak areas are and where you should focus more study time. Ask yourself why each of these questions gives you trouble. Is it because you don’t understand the material? Is it because you don’t remember the vocabulary? Do you need more repetitions on these types of questions to build speed and confidence? Dig into those questions and think about how you can strengthen your weaknesses when you go back to review the material.

What Does An Occupational Therapist Do? Duties, Pay, And More

In addition, many NBCOT practice tests have sections that explain the answer choices. It can be tempting to read the explanation and think that you now have a good grasp of the concept. However, the explanation can only cover part of the broader context of the question. Even if the explanation makes sense, go back and examine each concept related to the question until you are sure you have a thorough understanding.

As you proceed, remember that the OTR practice test is just that: practice. Memorizing these questions and answers will not be very useful in the actual test, as it is unlikely that any of the questions will be the same exact questions. If you only know the correct answers to sample questions, you will not be prepared for the real thing. Study the concepts until you understand them completely, and then you will be able to answer any questions that appear on the test.
