As a marketer, Lopez quickly noticed that small business owners were intimidated by social media. “It’s technical and it’s always changing,” says Lopez of Meerkat — which was popular in 2015 but now almost forgotten. “If you’re not immersed, it’s hard to keep track of how all the social platforms work.”
Lopez shows what you can do with this. “The secret to making money is being valuable,” explains Lopez. “Knowing how Facebook and Google work can be a game changer for small businesses. If you help their bottom line, they’ll be happy to pay you forever.”
Lopez estimates that the average client will pay you $1,500 a month — even if you work part-time. Five clients conservatively earn $9,000 per month. It’s a six-figure business.

Social media marketing is a “front-load” business model, which means you put in a lot of work in the beginning. (The opposite is the “treadmill business”: If you don’t show up to work, your income drops to zero.)
Lopez recommends attracting high-value clients like doctors, lawyers and dentists because they have no problem paying you.
“Once you know how to help one dentist, it’s easy to replicate and provide consistent results for other dentists,” Lopez explains. “You avoid the death trap of trading time for money and create more predictable income streams from multiple trustees.”

“Consumers want different things, and some always want the ‘luxury package,’” says Lopez. “If you only have one price, you’ll lose customers who want additional services.”
Instead, Lopez recommends creating four packages: $997, $1,997, $4,997, and $9,997. That way you have a basic service and a VIP option. The difference is in the amount and type of work you do.
For $997 you can optimize a client’s website to get someone’s email address. Create a simple email marketing funnel to grow your relationship – it’s a valuable asset.
For $1,997, you can manage all of a client’s social media accounts and create stories that build their brand. Then you can add paid ads to more expensive packages.

“For $997, you can offer $1,997 worth of services, but invest $4,000 in Google and Facebook ads,” Lopez says. “You keep $4,000 in profit, which is a 50 percent margin.”
“The best way to get clients is through friends, family and referrals. If someone has never worked with you, they will refuse to hire you,” explains Lopez, who believes you should avoid taking money in the first place.
“Evaluate their website and social media accounts for free using a pre-made template so you can confidently say, ‘Here’s what you’re doing and how I can improve it.’
“Retain one or two clients and ask them for written or video evidence,” he adds. “Success stories prove your credibility to other potential customers.”

Lopez quickly built up over a million Snapchat followers. To the casual observer, she shares her fun lifestyle with models, supercars and amazing friends. But there is more in the works.
“My definition of brands is to make business fun,” says Lopez. “One of my first students, Jaden Gross, was making over $100,000 a month with a social media marketing agency at the age of 22. The most valuable thing he taught me was how to create a ‘brand story.’
