Put down the phone: It’s time to learn more about who you spend 99% of your time with. Ask each other questions from “What’s your favorite movie theater snack” to “What’s your first impression of me?” The more the merrier: This game supports 2 or more players to play together. How to play: Grab your partner and divide the cards into 3 piles: “Ice Breaker”, “Depth” and “Deeper”. The one who makes the first move in the relationship draws the card first. Each turn he draws 1 Icebreaker card, 2 Depth cards, and 2 Depth cards. One player reads the card and lets the other players respond. Players take turns reading and answering questions, starting with the icebreaker card, then reading 2 deep cards and 2 deeper cards in turn. This is another one of my favorite games. While it’s certainly deep, the way it switches between levels throughout the game keeps things from getting difficult too quickly.
Building and maintaining a healthy relationship over the years can be a challenge for couples. It’s easy for one person in a couple to become dissatisfied over time and stop trying to make things work.
Communication is the key to building strong and healthy relationships. Overall, open interactions seem to make couples happier, but healthy couples also tend to communicate more openly. One of the best ways to make things last longer is to regularly sit down and discuss your feelings, hopes, and yes, even problems.
Let’s Get Deep
While you can keep the lines of communication open, relationship counseling brings in a third party to move things forward. Good mental health professionals have tools at their disposal that can help couples dig deeper and resolve their differences over time. However, couples therapy can be expensive, and insurance often does not cover the cost.
This is where a good helper can come in handy. Instead of pulling out the usual board games for game night, you can buy some games to help open up the lines of communication. Some are more bedroom-oriented, while others offer different stages of play, from understanding your problem to practical advice.
But another area of couple games are those that focus on helping you communicate better. Some have been developed by experts in the field of psychology, so you will encounter problems similar to those you would encounter in a therapist’s office. If you’re not ready to dive deeper into your relationship, there are plenty of ways to make things easier.
Keep in mind that these types of games can sometimes lead to arguments. They may even ask questions that you are not ready to discuss. Unlike a therapist’s office, you won’t have a professional to walk you through things, so if you’re looking for more intense couples play, make sure you’re ready to do the heavy lifting. Let’s Get Deep is an adult card game for couples and relationships. Spice up dates and spark meaningful conversations and deeper connections with Icebreaker, Deeper, and Deeper question cards. Use with the After Dark expansion pack for extra fun.
Let’s Get Deep: After Dark Expansion Pack
It’s time to put down your phone and understand who you spend 99% of your time with. Sort the cards into 3 designated piles: “Icebreaker”, “Depth” and “Deeper”. Play until you know each other too well…or it’s time to take it to the bedroom.
This is more of a conversation starter card. These are all great questions to ask yourself to get to know someone better. This has nothing to do with sex, but I knew that just by looking at the swatch. That’s why I bought it because I wanted to use it to get to know people better or as a conversation starter! It would be great if you are playing with friends and/or family, or if you are in a new relationship, but it is not suitable for long-term relationships and married couples. If you are looking for something sexual to spice up your night, this is not it! I still give it five stars because it’s great to use to get to know people better. They should actually change the name of this card game to “Conversation Starter” or “Get to Know You”!
This game is so awesome that I originally bought it for Valentine’s Day fun after dinner, but now it’s become something we play every week. We actually met our best married friends and learned a lot about each other. I definitely recommend this!
A great game to play with your partner or other couples! It will bring you some questions that you would have never thought to ask your partner and will help you understand a lot more about them. I bought this game as a gift for my friend.
