Make Your Own Cat Toy

Make Your Own Cat Toy – Our cat Biggie is about to celebrate his tenth birthday. She’s an important part of our family and takes on a lot around the house with two kids and two dogs (but let’s be honest, she’s definitely in charge here). Since his big birthday is coming up, we decided to spoil him a little. The kids and I made him some special toys and I found a new natural food that he loves.

We made Biggie two new toys for his birthday. They were really easy projects that the kids and I could do together, but the older kids could certainly do on their own. And they’re a great way to recycle your cardboard tubes. These toys make great gifts for your own cat or can serve as a project to donate to your local animal shelter.

All you need to make pom poms is some cotton wool and a pair of scissors and I have to say it doesn’t get much simpler than this.

Start by holding the tip of the cotton ball in the palm of your hand. Next, wrap the yarn around your hand and make loops at least 50 times. Slip the loop of yarn from your hand and tie the center with a piece of yarn. Cut the curled sides to create your pom pom. Feel free to make several of these so your kitty has plenty to choose from.
