Squarespace allows you to use YouTube and Vimeo videos as page backgrounds. This is a really fun and easy way to drive traffic to your site, especially if you use it to promote video content like your YouTube channel or even courses that you are promoting.
You can do this in Squarespace by clicking Settings or the gear icon next to the part where you want to insert the video background. Go to background settings and select “Video”. From there, you can paste the URL of the video that will be displayed.
Full-width sliders on a web page can dynamically display more content, but they can also clutter the page’s appearance with too much white background. You can create this slider in Squarespace by adding a gallery page to your index page. Add your photos to the gallery, then add titles and subtitles to each individual photo to add text on top of the image.

Squarespace released a feature called animations in early 2019. Now when you go to the images block, you will see a tab at the top that says “Animation”. With a few clicks, you can animate images to create movement on your website.
PRO TIP: Don’t overdo this effect! There is a fine line between strategic dynamics and design that makes the viewer of your site sick with any movement. We recommend using this only in certain places on each page.
The Pinterest “Save” button on your website allows someone to save an image from your website directly to their Pinterest profile. The benefit of this is that your images are searchable on Pinterest and then people can find your website through the Pinterest search engine. This could mean more bookings, purchases or website views for you and your brand.
Squarespace allows you to automatically enable this feature by turning this setting on or off! Find out how to enable the Pinterest save button here.

In addition, I needed to create a new website for the Practical School of Business. And this time I wanted to be serious. I wanted my site to look like I put a lot of time and money into it without spending a lot of time and money on it. I wanted them to look custom and really expensive. But like… free. Last year at this time we were at the very beginning of the pandemic, weddings had just stopped, and I was here to write about relaunching my own website (MegKeene.com) while simultaneously trying to figure out how I wanted to turn my career around. when we found ourselves stuck at home.
