With many folds, this scarf knot is also one of the most complicated ways to tie a scarf. Fold the scarf in half, lengthwise and widthwise, like a Paris knot, then drape it around your neck.

Take one loose end of the scarf and pull it through the loop formed by the folded end. Twist the loop and then pull the other end of the scarf through the loop to tie a knot.

You can wear this knot with pride knowing that it holds an interesting place in scarf history. This knot was popularized by Victorian coaches and drivers when it was discovered that it could be tied while holding a horse’s reins.

The Twice Around scarf knot is the best choice for cold weather Four in Hand, but it’s much easier to tie. Again, this works best if you use a longer scarf.
